PURE NATURAL WOOLLEN INFNTS KNICKERS

We have developed infant's knickers made out of natural, unbleached wool, which have already proved themselves a thousand times over.

The raw wool used to double-knit the knickers contains the natural oil (Lanolin) and displays the following advantages:

• Deodorizing (saponified Ammonnia)
• Better moisture absorption
• Oiled wool does not scratch

Raw wool can absorb moisture up to 30% of it's own weight, without displaying a feeling of dampness, Urine is chemically neutralized inside the wool fibres, so that the knickers do not have to be washed so often, only allowed to dry in the air. Should, however, they become soiled then they only need washing briefly with fine quality soap in cold water and then rinsed in cold water containing a small amount of Lanolin (which is obtainable at every chemist).

Raw wool is, due to it's natural properties, able to regulate the relationship between the body's own temperature and that of the surrounding temperature. It retains the body's warmth without leading to overheating. Raw wool provides optimal respiration for the skin.

The elasticity of the knickers allows the napkins to be folded to any thickness required an allows the baby freedom of leg movement. The wide bodice-cuff keeps the infant warm.

Comparison with normal plastic pants:
These do not retain moisture; rather they allow skin to reabsorb the urine. This causes damage to the skin, the fact the skin is a sensory organ and that the skin of an infant is particularly when used in combination with disposable napkins. Cotton napkins should be used, better still are Bourrette-silk napkins which are included in our production programme, covered with SELANA knickers.

Bourette silk napkins have the advantage that they allow the moisture pass through them and the skin remains dry .
